dealing with big things has never really been a problem with me. even dealing with too-big things: big hair, big trucks, big cocks. this is texas after all. you assess the situation and deal with it. but making big decisions for other people is not something i like to do, sort of like not ever wanting to be the child forced to put a parent in a nursing home - it's a no-win situation.
but today when E's new sofas were delivered and the largest one would not fit up the stairs i made a big decision: i opted not to return the sofa or to store the sofa, as suggested by the delivery men; i opted not to demolish the low wall that prevented the sofa from being moved up the stairs, as suggested by the building manager; i opted not to use a rope and pulley system and have it swung precariously, via the balcony doors, from the penthouse above into E's living room, 14 floors above the sidewalk, as suggested by the building manager and the delivery men.
no, i opted to leave the damn thing tilted on it's end in the middle of the entryway for E to deal with when he returns thursday at midnight.
hey, making big decisions can be fun!
