"... it suddenly occured to me that, in all the world, there neither was nor would ever be another place like this city of the angels. here the american people were erupting, like lava from a volcano; here, indeed, was the place for me-a ringside seat at the circus."
-Carey McWilliams
tomorrow i am heading to los angeles for the weekend, even though i am actually dreading going. not for any fault of the city, but for the issues at home that i have yet to deal squarely with. yet like a volcano, they are erupting. i am looking forward to being back in the city i once called my part-time home. i intend to look up a few favourite spots and hopefully several new favourites to add to the list. but the tasks i must confront while there, in what should be a holiday weekend at home, are very really and very frightening. i will come back having defeated my fears about my relationship, or return a prisoner-of-war to them. the city of angels as my witness.

"Not for any fault of the city"... Sounds like a good earthquake pun if there ever was one! Have a good trip. I've never been a fan of LA myself. It's the Right coast for me...
Cheers,
Mr. H.K.
