i left work tonight and it was raining already. it made a great backdrop for my very own celebration of itsenäisyyspäivä - december sixth. adding to the quiet and somber mood was the fact that E was is a shitty mood. i didn't let it get to me, so i went home, lit a candle in each window, said some thanks for my heritage, and like all good 'mos do in dallas- i ran to black eyed-pea for dinner. yes i left the candles burning. shut the fuck up! what's the worse that could happen? my home burns down and a swarm of firemen descend on the place like locusts. oh, terrible!
this is the republic of finland's eighty-seventh independence. it came at a perfect time for me this year, as i share a feeling of renewal and hope with the new job. tomorrow i'll call to ulla-äiti and wish her a now-belated birthday. onnea paljon ulla-äiti!
but for now, i am crawling into bed to watch a movie.
