E was in vegas friday on a business trip, so i decided to call a session of 'boys club' for friday. that means that K, the teacher, and J, the accountant and i go for drinks, dinner and some carousing afterwards. it's always a fun time, and just like vegas, what goes on in boys' club stays in boys club. it's a good policy, we've learned.
after we had some drinks and dinner, we headed to the round-up, the country and western bar. hotties were everywhere, and we took several self-promotional tours around the joint. just because.
half-way through the last tour, we parked ourselves right in front of the dance floor. no, none of us are country and western dancers, [though living in texas you have to know how to two-step: it's a matter of social survival] but we are always captivated and entertained by all of the line dancers. they look ridiculous.
after standing and gawking at them for several numbers i came to one conclusion:: there is a reason that solid gold came on television after ten pm. all of the bad children who weren't in bed by ten pm have grown up and are now on the dance floor doing line dances. i am convinced marilyn mccoo would regret ever having been on that show if she knew the damage it was doing to young queers across the south.
