just over a year ago i declared the year of orangepaperbike. it began, literally, somewhere over the atlantic on a delta flight to berlin with a fellow finno-ugric jetrosexual. i had big plans for the year: travel, exams, license, loans, a house, possibly a relocation..big, big plans. it took the entire year but i accomplished almost everything i had set out to do. i had passed all of my license exams and became a registered, handsome young[ish] architect; finally! i traveled to berlin, england, san francisco, chicago three times, kansas city, indianapolis three times, austin about a zillion times, and boston; i reconnected with old friends and made a couple of new ones along the way; i was given a huge promotion at work along with a meager bonus and pay raise; i'm still trying to figure out the whole 'promotion-is-more-important-than-money" bullshit smear campaign my boss went on. and finally, when all was almost said i done, i decided i would take an ultimate plunge [and commitment!] and buy a house. here in dallas of all places.
i hunted high and low for a house, i made my realtor [who used to be my administrative assistant] show me at least three dozen homes, and in the end i did indeed find one that suited that of a handsome young[ish] architect. i was even set to close exactly three hundred sixty-five days after the beginning of the year of orangepaperbike. but alas, the world was not to make it happen as i planned. in the end, i will be closing on the house five days later, which prompted me to declare the year of orangepaperbike version two-point-zero in order to continue the string of successes.
i highly recommend anyone to declare the year of themselves. only not this year. this year belongs to me. again. look for more of the house saga as the second year of orangepaperbike moves forward.

That's so great! I'm inspired.
Huge congrats on 1.0! All Finno-Ugric people are inspired by you, as are fellow Texans.
Since you've accomplished so much, I think I will declare my own next year orangepaperbike v2.0 as inspiration. Go girl!
