imagine...

i know that most will people will find this as a complete surprise, but yours truly can be quite capable [read: butch!] in making repairs to large household appliances. take this evening as a perfect example. no, wait, back up a few weeks when i went to put my unmentionables in the dryer. the noise it made rivaled the sounds uttered by some four-legged animals and certain drag queens in wichita kansas.

anyway, i hauled it out into the middle of my living room floor and pulled that bitch apart. thankfully i was wise when i rented a zoloft with concrete floors. after i deftly pulled it apart to see what was the matter, i logged onto the web and ordered the replacement parts i needed: a bearing replacement ensemble, a heater coil [apparently the original problem caused this to shatter into tiny pieces of...well, of coil!] and the mounting bracket for the bearing spindle thing.

the parts arrived today and so i spent the evening, foregoing dinner, to repair my dryer. total cost: eighty-two dollars for parts and ten dollars of quarters i pumped into the pay-dryer in the washteria to dry my unmentionables over the past week.

i'm convinced that it would have cost three hundred for a repairman to come and do the same job. i love doing that sort of thing around the house. besides, sears isn't know for hottie repairmen anyway. girls, am i right on this one? like i said, butch isn't it? too bad the lesbeterians next door moved or i could've used their tools without getting my all greasy and dirty. hmmmm, greasy and dirty...
